These are all 3D renders. I created a large-scale landscape and it was a bliss to explore different lighting and fog/atmosphere scenarios. With this all-around ready-built scene it seemed like whatever lighting I tried it looked decent and the composition started to play a much bigger role. The environment is inspired by Estonian bogs.
